Research has shown that without flexible films and foils, the total weight of packaging would increase fourfold; the cost we pay for packaging would double; and the volume of waste packaging would also double.

The consequential environmental impacts would greatly raise transportation and exhaust emissions, as well as doubling the packaging waste going to landfill.
